Furnace Repair Langley and Aldergrove Area Symptoms
Some symptoms to watch for.
The furnace is producing less heat now. Unusual noises. Inconsistent performance. Cracks, punctures and dents. Pilot light failure. Smoke. Strange odors. A malfunctioning furnace will exhibit these symptoms among others. If you notice any of these signs, call Pro Ace Heating and Air Conditioning immediately. The risk of further deterioration of your gas furnace unit is, of course, a concern. And not only to avoid unnecessary costs (which could be alleviated by a professional furnace repair). But also to avoid a complete furnace replacement. However, the main concern is your safety. Older furnaces may not have the requisite feedback systems that would warn you about a carbon monoxide leakage (for instance). And electrical shorting can cause a fire.
What can cause my furnace to stop producing heat?
A furnace is a relatively simple device. But it can break down in several different ways. No heat may be caused by a faulty thermostat, an electrical short, or stuck valves. If a gas valve suddenly closes, it chokes off the regular flow of fuel that is converted to heat. If you know what to do, you could open the valves yourself. But Pro Ace Heating and Air Conditioning recommends phoning us first. There may be other issues to assess. If the thermostat is faulty, it simply needs to be replaced. That is cheaper than fixing it (in most cases). However, the thermostat setting should be checked first. The thermostat should always be set in “heat” mode with an appropriate temperature setting. Please, do not hesitate to call us no matter what your concerns are.
What can cause the blower to not turn off?
The cause here could be the thermostat setting. Make sure the thermostat is not set at “continuous.” But it could be a faulty fan. Either the fan itself, its control switch, or the fan’s electrical connections. Before attempting to fix the problem yourself, call Pro Ace Heating. We may be able to advise you how to fix it without a service call to your home.
